Balloons!

During Amanda and Frank's visit, we go to see a pretty awesome hot air balloon show.
Freedom Aloft happens just down the road in Simpsonville.
We all had a great time watching the balloons!
Susannah was amazed by the humongous balloons!

We loved all the different colors.

Coleman has started saying, "Boon!" when he sees anything that looks like a balloon.
We really tried to get a family picture!

I think there were a few too many distractions!

This balloon landed right across the street from us!
What a cool way to spend an evening!

Aunt Mana and Uncle Frank's Visit

Aunt Mana and Uncle Frank are AWESOME!

We had such a wonderful visit from Aunt Mana and Uncle Frank in May (how embarrassing that I am just now posting this?!?!). They came all the way from San Fran to visit us and celebrate sweet Coleman's birthday. Is that love, or what?!?!? We did lots of super-fun things with them and enjoyed every minute of being together.

I especially loved busting out all the maternity clothes for Aunt Mana. Good Ole Southwest Airlines let her check a TUB full of maternity clothes to keep her comfortable while she awaits the arrival of my sweet niece in November. I cannot wait to hold that sweet baby and watch my sister settle into motherhood. She is already so wonderful with children and finds such joy in the little things. In my opinion, she's all set to be a terrific mommy!

When Aunt Mana was here, she had not yet had the gender reveal ultrasounds, so there was much speculation about whether she would be having a girl or a boy. Luckily, Suz helped us out with that. After much consideration and a few moments of staring into Aunt Mana's belly button, Susannah has decided this baby is a girl. She has also named the baby "Hecky." And before you ask, I have NO idea where she comes up with this stuff. I promise I don't go around saying, "Ah, heck!"

We started our adventures with the Scottish parade on Main St. Suz loved the music and the kilts, but we were all very disappointed that there wasn't any candy!

Uncle Frank and Coleman became fast friends, and after seeing Uncle Frank tolerate multiple assaults on his computer by both Dunbar children and have companions in his lap or hovering near his face while on important work calls, I have to say that Uncle Frank's patience is quite possibly the 8th Wonder of the World. If only I could bottle that patience and break it out around 4 pm every day!
She doesn't look like a menace... but those ornery wheels are a-turnin!
Here is the 1 year old on the morning of May 27, 2012. He is enjoying some watermelon!

Even though it was Coleman's birthday, Aunt Mana arrived with appropriate gifts for the little princess.
And, once again, Uncle Frank's patience impressed us all as he worked on the paper dolls
for a solid hour!
We enjoyed the balloons long after the birthday party!
And enjoyed beautiful weather signaling the beginning of summer.
And, some more delicious watermelon, of course.
An evening train ride before bed...

And a parting shot I just could not resist!

More pictures to come from our summer adventures. Stay tuned!

Sweet Snuggles

How sweet is this?
Just checking out a little Noah's Ark Lift-the-Flaps.
Sneaking a few kisses from the brother.

Now that Coleman can get up and down on the couch, he and Susannah spend a little bit of time snuggling there everyday.

It's pretty fun to watch. Sometimes I can catch some smiles.

 Or silliness.

Right now, Coleman loves Susannah and Susannah loves Coleman.
I only hope this lasts forever!

Back Home and Ready for the Olympics!

Obviously we have been pretty bad about blogging here lately! Our month-long travels including the Great State of Oklahoma, Wichita Falls, TX, out west to Montana and Wyoming (Yellowstone and the Tetons), back to OK/TX, then to Cape Cod, MA and Cooperstown, NY. Our little travelers were pretty awesome and they definitely enjoyed all the time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends! Mommy and Daddy loved a little time away in much cooler temps with the opportunity to hike, fish and soak up some beautiful scenery.

Of course, we missed our Greenville and our little house on Knollwood Lane, and our wonderful friends... and our "very own beds" as Susannah calls them. We are settled back into everyday life, and we definitely miss our family out west.

The Olympics have provided the perfect distraction for us though, and Susannah is definitely in the spirit! She told us she had to get ready for dinner the other night then went into the bathroom for quite a while. She came out looking like this:
She had been working hard at slicking down her hair! Not sure if she was going for the swimming or gymnastics look, but I imagine it took some serious dedication to tame those curls!

Happy Monday!
