Happy Kids

These 2 little ones are pretty happy on a daily basis. Not that there isn't a fair bit of whining on Knollwood Lane, but let's be honest. Most of the time, that is me. Seriously, I sometimes wonder why I complain at all. We have so much to be thankful for! These two are simply delightful.
They love playing with each other. In fact, when we are with other friends and Coleman hasn't had enough Susannah time, he will walk up to her friend and say, "Zanna! Coleman Turn!!!!!" He seriously just loves his sister. What a sweet thing to witness. He lives for noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He loves picking up Susannah from school so much that he frequently squeals with delight in the carpool line.
This little girl is pretty awesome. She has a sweet heart that wants to include others and make them feel special. It makes a mama thankful and a little teary.

She is also a little fashionista who often poses awkwardly. :)

 CPD= truck lover.

Give him trucks, cars, trains or bulldozers and he will arrange them, organize them, zoom them and carry as many of them in his hands as he can possibly hold.
These little blessings make me smile everyday. I am so thankful for happy, healthy, sweet kids.

Oh, the Beard...

And all subsequent facial hair options. Matt grew a beard over the Christmas holiday and he sure did look handsome. As a big work meeting approached, he figured it might be time to shave the old beard. Here is one picture of Daddy with a silly face and a handsome beard.
And mesmerized Susannah. She is ready for the shaving show!!! Why not make it a family event?

Look at her face! She is shocked!

Now, the goatee is not working for her. I think she looks a little disgusted.
 And, Coleman just looks scared.

It might be because of these crazy faces Daddy is making!
 Now Coleman is pretty amused.
Susannah is thrilled to see some more hair go...
but this look is definitely not mommy's favorite.
Now, this. This mustache. I think he looks a bit like a 1970s cop.
 Or mailman.
I can't decide. Either way, we are all thankful for a freshly-shaved daddy. Boy, did we enjoy the shaving show! Every night in the bath, the kids ask for beards from the soap suds!

Johnson Playdate

Our sweet friends, The Johnsons, came over for a family playdate.
We enjoyed a little i-pad time. Susannah insisted on her tutu as you can plainly see. That happens a lot over here.
Look at the way Susannah is reaching up to tuck Joseph's hair behind his ears! Adorable!! On a different playdate, I went to Joseph's room to tell Susannah that we had 5 minutes of playtime left. When I rounded the corner, she hopped up and said, "Mommy, I am not ready yet. I need to finish nursing Joseph!" Oh. my. word!!! Trying to remain calm, I asked her to tell me how they nursed. She then showed me that they just touched their bellies together and then their backs! Thank goodness!!!! You never know what these kids are picking up!
She also had a little surprise present for Joseph and David.
We found some Cars pjs and knew Joseph would love them!
In direct contrast with his sister, this little guy is really struggling with sharing.
And sweet David bore the brunt of Coleman's displeasure.
In the end, he had a great sense of humor about it. We love our friends!

Sweet little Valentines

These two little valentines are about as sweet as they come!
Susannah enjoyed a fun day at school and donned her new heart dress along with her cowboy boots. She rarely chooses any other shoes :)
 -Quick Valentine Photo Shoot-
She brought home some fun sunglasses from her party. Coleman quickly snatched them up and wore them around the house.
He was so happy to be wearing "Zanna's gasses!!!"
My sweet husband and I enjoyed a night out on Valentine's Day while these two played with Miss Mary. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such love on a daily basis and am so thankful for what the 3 other Dunbars teach me about how to love generously, sincerely and happily. Hope your Valentine's Day was special too!
Suz received a fun Valentine card from Captain. It was full of $18. Her lucky number!

What a fun Valentine surprise!

Wild, Wild Curly Hair

Well, here they come. Long-overdue posts about the entire month of February.
My girl has discovered static electricity.
And she loves the hilarious hairstyles it gives her.

She has also discovered that when it looks like this I am far more likely to "fix" it with a little mousse.

She likes the mousse, but she also really likes working it into this wienie roll. Mom, that term is just for you!
Here is daddy with a beard, too. We ended February with Daddy shaving this beard into some pretty fun facial hair- fu-man-chu, goatee, mustache. It makes it easy to see why she thinks hair can equal humor.
