Happy Halloween!

We have some VERY excited trick-or-treaters around here!
Our day started with a little Halloween party for Susannah at school.
She was all decked out in her pumpkin gear and the little man was dressed to scare in his monster shirt.

We had a fun park picnic with EG and headed home for rest time and naps. You have to get your strength up for Halloween night, right? We did discover these scary teeth in Susannah's bag after school though, and she and Coleman needed to try them out!

Costume pictures coming soon!
Happy Halloween!
Wishing you lots of treats!

Captain's Quick Visit

We had a quick visit from Captain at the beginning of this week. He joined us Sunday through Tuesday and we packed in quite a few adventures. During his visit, a baby giraffe was born at the Greenville Zoo. We spent Tuesday morning hanging out at the zoo, hoping for a glimpse of the baby. Unfortunately we didn't get to see her, but we did see this very proud papa!
Here are Susannah's favorites!

Sweet, proud, little face!
10 am was just too early for this little monkey family.
 Coleman LOVES the monkeys!
But, he does not love his stroller.
We freed him in the reptile house.
And, we all enjoyed this little alligator. He was a tenacious little fellow.

Captain, Coleman and Susannah loved the zoo!

Back at home, we had a little down time and C&C did a little snuggling.
We dined outside on a beautiful evening. Belle joined us and Captain helped feed her :)

We love you, Captain! Thank you for coming to see us!

Princess Play Date

Three Cinderellas showed up at the park last Friday!
 Aren't they beautiful?!?!
They were so regal and proper with their hugging (see below).
After lunch and hugging, they decided to get serious about playing. We were at the park after all!
They took turns hanging from the monkey bars and looked even more gorgeous while doing it!

The princesses enjoyed a beautiful October day, and the little prince loved chatting up the littlest princess.

Cool Cat.

Looking good, Coleman!

Hard at Work

Susannah has been working on writing her name for awhile now. She has a lot of "hard" letters and SO many of them, too! I made the Ns for her, but the rest are all her! Here is a snapshot of our progress...
Sweet little Suz! She is growing up so quickly!

Life Lately

Brace yourself for a very random blog post. I have been snapping quite a few pictures lately; there is no shortage of adventure around these parts, but the blog time is always limited :)

The weather in Greenville has been a little wild lately. We have enjoyed shorts and t-shirt weather for so many months, that we were ready to bust out our long sleeves when the cold front arrived Sunday. Here is the monkey on a hot weather day.
Suz and Coleman are always ready to play outside on the slide or in the house. They are really enjoying playing with each other (most of the time) and Coleman loves following Susannah around imitating every little move she makes.
Here is the boss-girl on the move in the backyard.
Look at that pretty green grass! Way to go, Daddy!
Coleman loves collecting leaves in his dump truck.
Suz is working on her more lady-like slides. :)
 Playing in the playhouse together.

Coleman is ready for Hollywood in his star shades.
A few weeks ago we went to the park for our traditional post-school picnic with Ella Grace. About 30 minutes into our play, Susannah came running up to me with a huge shiny spot on her hairline. Somehow she had gotten a big glob of sap in her hair! Of course we had no idea what to do about it! Google yielded plenty of suggestions, but the one home remedy I had on hand was mayonnaise. Here she is watching a little Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and waiting for the mayo to loosen the sap. It worked! Thank goodness! I was so afraid we were going to have to cut a big chunk out of her hair!

 Museum time!

Susannah really loves to read books to Coleman. They will actually sit in his rocker and look at books together. Melt my heart!
Back to the cold front- Monday was pretty chilly here in G-ville. We needed to make a quick trip to the grocery store, so I asked Susannah to go grab her shoes. She came back with these hilarious orange sandals. She was so proud of herself for putting them on all by herself! It was one of those battles I figured wasn't worth it. I mean, look at that face! She was seriously so proud of herself! We got some funny looks and a few comments from people in parkas and boots, but this girl wasn't fazed!
Happy almost-Friday!

Clemson Family

Coleman went to the first of many Clemson games this past weekend. Matt and I have been trying to figure out the best way to take the kids to a game with naps, etc. We finally decided just to bite the bullet and put Coleman down for an early nap so we could be in Clemson before kick-off. Our plan worked and we had such a great time cheering on the Tigers as a family!
On a side note, if you are ever there and you need a ride around campus, just let me know :)
(They are as heavy as they look.)
Luckily, Suz ran alongside her daddy and/or rode on his shoulders most of the walk to the stadium. Her enthusiasm for gameday was a sight. Truly.
Her daddy was loving every minute of it. She asked lots of questions during the game and was really trying to understand. "What team is the guy in black and white stripes?" She even cried when we left at halftime!
Luckily we ran into our sweet friends, the Millers on our way out. These 2 are such great little friends!
And, here is the Colemanator striking a very odd pose for Mr. Mark!
The Tigers defeated the Yellow Jackets- and we made it home in time to watch the end on TV!
