We had a great weekend here in G-ville. The weather was GORGEOUS and we were able to play outside and spend time with friends. On Friday night the Johnsons came over and Susannah immediately donned her apron to help with the macaroni and cheese. She kept her apron on long after dinner and throughout Elmo and her stroller ride. Thanks Joseph!
On Saturday morning, Susannah had a stare-down with Scoots- our neighborhood cat. Apparently she felt the need to have a perfect relaxation spot during the stare-down, so she emptied her dirty clothes basket and used it.
On Sunday Daddy put together some new patio furniture. I'll post pics of that later. We had quite a helper! Happy Monday Morning!

Elmo
Typical of most two-year-olds, Susannah is in L-O-V-E with Elmo. This week I went in to get her after a nap and a bit of playtime and singing. I found her with Brown Bear, Brown Bear open and Elmo tucked under her arm. She was saying, "See that red bird, Elmo. Point to the red bird Elmo. That's right, Elmo. Good job, Elmo!"
Giving Elmo some hugs.
Loving my Elmo shirt and walking around in mommy's shoes.
Happy Weekend!

Welcome Sunshine...
Susannah has been wearing her shades a lot these days. Thankfully the sun has been out in G-ville and we have been soaking it up!
Curly Hair
At least kind of curly. Here are a few pics of Suz with her wet hair. It gets very curly when wet and can even have some serious waves when dry. Now if only it would get longer!
Clearly she wasn't thrilled at the evening photo shoot!

Puzzled.
You will have to excuse the blatant bragging and "can you believe how smart this child is?"-ness of this post, but I definitely want to remember that she could do this. If for no other reason, I want to be able to remind her when she is taking a Geography test over North America in 6th grade! My friend, Lauren Robinson, brought this puzzle to Susannah when she was just a few months old and for the first year of Suzy's life, I just left it in the shrink-wrap. I would pull it out regularly and point to Oklahoma. Eventually, she wanted to open it and although it says for children 3 and over, she has loved every minute of playing with it and only tried to eat small New England states on one occasion. Ibby and Mia also benefited from the geographical review they got when putting it together with her! Daddy gets most of the credit for teaching her this trick since he does the puzzle with her almost nightly.
For some reason she is partial to California and will say, "Aunt Mana and Uncle Frank live here. There's a big bridge too!" She also calls Washington, "Dr. Washburn." He's our pediatrician.
Yes, that is proper placement of Wyoming! She can identify 30+ states and properly place them. We are still a little rusty on New England.
Susannah has definite favorites- Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina (of course), California, Montana, Maine (it goes way up high!) and Oklahoma!
We affectionately refer to this puzzle as "The Oklahoma Puzzle" and it has been such a fun thing to watch Susannah learn! Soon we will move onto capitals!

Waiting for it to Warm Up
This morning there is still a chill in the air here in Greenville, so we are waiting for our warmer weather to arrive before we head outside for an adventure. Susannah is keeping busy with her coloring book and appears to (finally) be content coloring on her own. As you can see, the tiger and sasso are ever-present these days. She talks to them like they are her friends, too. We aren't quite sure how we aer going to let them go.
Look at this LONG body! I can't believe she is this big, but she is growing, changing and learning everyday. Yesterday she made some proclamation as we were driving around like "Look that's an S for Suzy" or something like that and I said, "That's right." She quickly remarked, "No mommy, that is CORRECT!" Too funny! Happy Weekend to you!

Valentine's Party Photo Shoot
Susannah was VERY into having her picture taken this morning before she left for her MMO Valentine's Day Party. Here she is in all her glory...
One of her teachers made Valentine cupcakes and sent them home for an after-school snack. Susannah loved it despite the mess it made on her hands!
This is her "What?!? There is only 1 cupcake??" face!
Happy Valentine's Weekend to you!

Be Still My Heart...
Bracelets! We got these lovely bracelets in the mail from Uncle Tom and Tip and Susannah is really enjoying her new accessories. She may not be able to keep them on without holding her arms in the air! I tried to get some pics that show Susannah's hair! It is growing daily and thickening up, and it looks like it might be a little bit red!!!
We are headed to our MMO Valentine's Party tomorrow. Suz has been working hard on her cards and many a sticker has been strategically placed! She knows she is going to a Valentine party and has been talking about it all day. Hope you are all enjoying your Thursday!!! XOXO!!!!

High Time
It's high time we got back in the swing of things. I know, I know Aunt Mana... you need some regular updates on your favorite niece. Well, here you go!
Seeing as half of the country is covered in snow, I figured I might upload the pics from our early January snowstorm. We were stuck inside for 3 days and that was more than enough time to exhaust our arts and crafts supplies (which you all have received in the mail), make tons of cookies, bundle up and venture out (although not for long) and enjoy having Daddy-o home for some extra snuggle time. He makes the best snowmen, don't you think? He even did this by himself in the backyard, so Susannah could stare out the window and admire them. She still looks for them on occasion, but they are long gone. Thank goodness!
Here is our girl standing watch at the back window. We played with the airplane A LOT. It took lots of trips to Oklahoma and California!
Our house and cars covered in snow...
Taking a little walk in the neighborhood.
Making homemade thumb-print Valentines.
I know this is nothing compared to what has fallen this week. We are thankful for everyone's safety and warmth and are counting down the days until SPRING!!! Lots of love!
