Week in Review

Susannah L-O-V-E-S having her picture taken these days. In fact, she is now requesting a mini-photo shoot after getting dressed each morning.

Here she is before her good friend, Berkeley's birthday party.

Here she is before school on Tuesday.
Saying "Cheese" for Mia!

Wearing her owl shirt and looking like a big girl...
And, here are a few pics from the big birthday party for Berkeley. These two are such sweet friends!
They both love Elmo, Joseph (could he be any cuter?) and cupcakes with chocolate icing!

Happy Sunday to you!

Oh, the doctor...

Unfortunately we ended our week with yet another trip to the doctor. Poor Susannah spiked a fever on Thursday night and could even tell me what figured was the issue- "Mommy, my ear is bothering you." This of course, means that her ear is hurting her, not me, but she doesn't quite have all those pronouns down yet. She then told me that she needed to go see our doctor. What a smart girl! I am definitely thankful that she can communicate with me and let me know what is hurting her even though I hate to hear it! Here is our sick girl today with two tigers and a sasso. She is feeling MUCH better though. Thank goodness!
In what turned out to be a prophetic move, Susannah and I made a totally awesome purchase on a rainy trip to Buy Buy Baby on Monday. She spotted this Elmo doctor kit and had to have it. She was so thrilled to be able to check her ears like Dr. Washburn. Of course, when we got home, we used a different patient. Here is Elmo on the operating ottoman.
Getting his ears checked by the big bird otiscope. And, then a check of Susannah's ears for good measure. Apparently she missed something.
We use a thermometer that swipes across her forehead (although irregular, still much more pleasant than the alternative). Here she is checking her temp with the Burt thermometer.
Finally, she's taking a listen to her heart with the help of Cookie Monster.
Here's hoping this ear infection passes soon and our girl is back to normal very soon. Happy Saturday!

Another Rainy Day...

Although this might be cute, we sure are tired of the rain around here!

Time for Tea/ St. Patrick's Day!

I snapped these pics about a week ago. Suz and Daddy just enjoying some time together- you know a little make-up, a little hair-styling, a little tea party. Isn't that what girls are supposed to do with their daddies? Could these 2 be any cuter?!? What a lucky lady I am!

Here are a few pics from St. Patty's Day, too. Just trying to get them up before March is over!

Happy Monday!

A Picture is Worth...

A little bit of time to myself?!?  We saved all of our Christmas cards in a silver bowl and I never imagined how helpful these could be! Susannah will sit for long periods of time talking to the people in the pictures, asking me "who's that?" and just enjoying her friends and family.
She might make a mess while she is doing it.
But, I think in her own way, she has some kind of system going on.  Many of these cards are friends she has not met yet, still she knows their names.
And some are her good buddies. She is always thrilled to see them, too.
She recently carried the Tedesco family card around for an entire day and called Olivia, Grayson and Ryker her "kids." She talked to them about her books, meals, naps, etc and would put them in her purse for any outings.
Now if only she could develop a system for putting them away!

Boxes!

Please excuse the absence. We had some fantastic visitors, this mommy got pretty sick, and spring is here (so we have been outside- a LOT!). Those are my excuses. Here are a few snapshots of what we have been doing (pre- and post-sickness).

Susannah has spent quite a bit of time playing in this diaper bin. And Daddy and I have been working hard organizing and purging our guest room to make room for the baby brother. It's hard to believe he will be here in just 9 weeks!

Madeline's Birthday Party

Susannah's friend, Madeline, celebrated her 2nd birthday with a Clemson-themed party in Tiger stadium. The girls wore their orange and purple best and loved coloring tiger pictures and using lots of tiger paw stickers.
The party was complete with a visit from the Clemson pep band and the Tiger mascot himself.
Seeing the tiger was a bit, um, troubling devastating traumatic for Susannah. She doesn't handle costumes very well, but after many tears, some trembling and several "No Tiger. He not going to scare you" statements, Susannah warmed up and gave him a high-five.
She did spend quite a bit of time in Daddy's arms before heading into the box to practice cheering on the Tigers. No football game on this evening, but Susannah and her buddies practiced their cheers for the fall.
Happy Birthday Madeline! Thank you for including us in your fun birthday party!!
