Tent Time

Last week, Matt traveled to SF on a business trip, so these 2 and I had some serious quality time.
We figured a tent was in order.
A fire was lit, marshmallows were roasted.
 Coleman resisted smiling for pictures.

 Fun was had by all!

I am pretty sure Coleman was pinching Susannah in this picture.
Thankfully she emerged unscarred and Daddy made it home safely. Birthday week up next!

Birthday Prep and a Visit from Mia and Coach

These kiddos were pretty excited to welcome Mia and Coach to Greenville in mid-April. We loved having them here!
Mia, Susanna and Mommy decided to make the cupcakes for Susannah's 4th birthday party.
I can hardly believe 4 years have passed since we welcomed Susannah Ruth Dunbar to the world.

All 3 of us donned our aprons and baked 55 cupcakes!!!
And we had a wonderful time in the process... even if Susannah was making some silly faces.

Thanks for visiting us, Mia and Coach! Come again soon!!!

Princess Bride Reading to Lumberjack

I have no idea what else to title this photo. Isn't it cute?!?!

Easter Morning

Easter morning means so much more than eggs, bunnies and treats. We have been reading the Easter story from the Jesus Storybook Bible for so many weeks now and Susannah is really interested in Jesus showing up to Mary after the crucifixion. She loves that he says her name "with a voice like no one else. Mary would know that voice anywhere!" She has talked about this so much and she regularly reminds me that Jesus "defeated and conquered" death and that he will make all the sad things come untrue. Motherhood has a way of reminding me daily how much I need Jesus, and it is a sweet, sweet thing to get that reminder through the tender words of my children. I remain so thankful that Jesus calls to me with a voice "like no other" and I pray that daily for Susannah and Coleman.

We did enjoy a little egg hunt before church. Thankfully the Easter bunny left something besides candy in our eggs. Coleman stopped to eat the contents of each egg before moving on to the next one.
Susannah was all about the treats!

Matt tried to get a picture of our kiddos before church. Here are the fruits of his labor!

After church our friends and neighbors, the Tutens joined us for a yummy Easter lunch! This was a pretty fun kids table!

Happy Easter to you! He is Risen!!!

Dying Eggs

On the night before Easter we decided to dye some eggs.
Coleman was having a hard time with this decision. Look at that face!
 This character was ready though.
Matt got the monk calmed down and S struck an awkward pose, and we were off!
Eggs were boiled. Dye was ready.
Matt helped Coleman drop his eggs in the ba-lue dye. S and I posed for a pic while we waited on colored eggs.

SRD was pretty pumped out about her eggs.

Coleman found his fire truck and miraculously managed to avoid tipping over the egg-dying table. We even got a sweet smile from him before it was all over.

Spiky Hair

This bald head is growing some serious hair...finally. We may not have enough for a legitimate ponytail, but we can get a bath time spiky!
Oh, and this little fella has to have one if big sis does. Monkey see, monkey do. Please notice the ab difference on these 2 children. SRD has an 8-pack while CPD has a big ole belly :)

Sweet little friends love playing in the bath together.

Happy Tuesday to you!
