Buh, Buh, Buh

If you can have a baby "buh-worm," we do. Susannah is using her "B" noises to let us know that she really loves books. "Buh" is her new word, if you can really call it that. She also says "mamamamama" and "dadadadadada," but "buh" is the word of today. In fact, she will grab books from her basket of toys or from the TV stand shelf and drag them to me. She then sits on my lap and waits not-so-patiently for story time. I know these days won't last long, but we both are enjoying the quality time quite a bit.

"I think I see one!!!"

"Reading" and look how big her feet look!

On second thought, maybe she's really saying "Buh-ath!!!"

Could I Really Be a Blogger?

Lately I have had several people tell me that I need to start a blog. Apparently blogging is one of the ways new mothers stay sane and get ideas for how to survive the transition from "the real world" to "the new normal" as we seem to refer to pre- and post-baby time periods.

Each person cites a different reason for the blog creation.
- "It's a great way to post pictures and stories about your children."
- "It's fun to have a record of your journey in motherhood."
- "It's a fantastic way to tell stories and communicate with family and friends in different places."

Confession: we started a family blog before Susannah arrived in late April. However, posting pictures to our sharesite has proved sufficient during the first months. I hope you enjoy the musings you will find here. They may not be profound, but rest assured, they will be true to life and flavored with the perspective of a new mom far from home and in love with the two beautiful people God has given me- Matt and Susannah.

Getting Ready for Baby

Welcome to the Dunbar Family Diary. In our inaugural posting, it seems fitting to tell you a little about our lives. Currently, our lives are pretty consumed with preparations for the arrival of the newest Dunbar. While we are excited to meet our new little girl, we are also trying to take advantage of the peace and quiet and rest up now.

We are thrilled to be adding to our family and our life here in Greenville, South Carolina. We have lived in G-ville for almost a year, and we both feel really blessed to feel fairly settled already. Cleveland Park/Falls Park are two of our favorite spots here in town, and of course, our proximity to Clemson makes Matt very happy. Additionally, we are enjoying our supper club with Clemson friends, our new church, Downtown Presbyterian and our community group, and life in a smaller town.
